Professional Development Workshops
Getting a STEM degree is the baseline. Standing out is the strategy.
Every student applying to the next internship, graduate program, or job will have coursework. What sets you apart is how you translate your experiences into professional momentum. Our workshops focus on building the skills that aren’t taught directly in class — crafting a strong CV, writing a compelling statement of purpose, securing powerful letters of recommendation, preparing for interviews, and learning how to reach out to research labs before you apply.
These sessions are about turning your degree into opportunity.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
STEM doesn’t use resumes — it uses CVs.
Learn how to build a CV that actually communicates your research, skills, and trajectory. We provide a template, sharpen your language using AI tools and Bloom’s Taxonomy, and help you walk away with a polished, conference-ready CV.
Personal Statements
Your story needs direction, not just reflection.
Whether it’s called a statement of purpose, letter of interest, or cover letter, this is your chance to tell your story with strategy. We’ll help you articulate your motivations, connect your current work to your future goals, and show reviewers both what you bring to the program and what you plan to build with it.
Interview Prep
Interviews aren’t about having the “right” answer — they’re about showing how you think.
Learn how to break down big questions, connect your past experiences to future goals, and communicate what you bring to the table with clarity and strategy. We’ll practice real questions, structure strong responses, and help you think out loud with confidence.
Letters of Recommendation
An A is already on your transcript. A letter should say more.
Strong recommendation letters document growth — how you troubleshoot, collaborate across differences, lead, adapt, and push through challenges. In this workshop, we break down the anatomy of a powerful letter so you can choose the right recommender, ask at the right time, and align the letter with your long-term goals.
